Do you want to develop your career in finance? An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Management Accounting team for a candidate with great numerical and interpersonal skills to help us build a strong finance function. This role will include opportunities for training and professional development.

What’s the role?

The postholder will assist with the day-to-day management and control of the accounting function, ensuring that budgetary control and accurate financial information is delivered to Boards, Committees and business stakeholders. It will require regular engagement across the business, covering a range of finance activities for revenue and capital. The role will contribute to the production of annual budgets, monthly management accounts and the annual statutory financial statement.

In this role you will:

  • ensure a high standard of customer service
  • take personal responsibility for delivery of core financial information
  • support and advise budget holders on the budget setting process and forecasts
  • assist and deliver a range of core finance processes
  • be an integral part of the management accounting function
  • support managers in identifying and accounting for capital expenditure

What are we looking for?

You will be a customer-focused member of the finance function, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people. You will be numerically strong and understand sound financial principles. You will have a relevant background to support a career in finance and be keen to develop professionally through accounting qualifications.

Essential:

  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Qualified Accounting Technician or finance related degree
  • Budget setting and monitoring experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the housing sector
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software packages
  • Knowledge of capital accounting
