The Vacancy
£36,967 - £43,165, Increasing in February (37 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year)
This exciting new role will be integral to the development and expansion of the college’s sustainable construction and green skills curriculum!
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the development in this area, as Project Manager for Sustainable Construction & Green Skills you’ll be instrumental in bringing in new programmes to help move our ‘Green Skills’ strategy forward.
You’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and will be responsible for reshaping and developing the College’s green curriculum.
Focusing on sustainable construction, renewable energy, utilities and retrofitting of houses you’ll help ensure that employers are better able to meet the challenges of achieving carbon net zero by investing in green technology.
Day-to-day you will:
Manage and develop an exciting range of sustainable construction and green skills training projects
Line manage a specialist team of Main Grade Lecturers
Proactively coordinate and monitor the progress of projects
Ensure Boards/Funders/Stakeholders are kept updated on progress
Build relationships with external partners and funders
Development of a comprehensive risk register
Effectively managed budgets and resources
Apply project management methodologies and standards
Ensure project compliance and that documentation is complete & current
After your first year with us, success would mean you:
Have identified, secured and deployed appropriately qualified and experienced training resources to deliver the projects/contracts
Forged excellent professional relationships with curriculum, business development and other staff to develop solutions and successfully move the area forward
Successfully applied project management methodologies and project standards in everything you do
Been a fantastic leader to your team, empowering them to deliver outstanding teaching and learning sessions

Have extensive recent experience working within the sector, a passion for driving excellence to the benefit of the students and a desire to go further
Have experience in setting up, managing and delivering projects to a high standard
Have experience working in a construction-related role with an understanding of sustainable construction methods and green technologies
