About the role:

Gentoo has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to partner with the organisation and provide project management expertise and responsibility for the delivery of a portfolio of Business and IT projects. The Project Manager will have a structured, well-governed, organised approach gained through previous experience to deliver projects on time and to targets and objectives.

The Project Manager role is part of the Project Management Office (PMO) which is responsible for the governance and delivery of medium to large-size projects across the Gentoo Group. Gentoo is on a transformation journey to improve our services by making things simpler for our colleagues and customers. This role will play a key part in ensuring these transformation projects are delivered in a controlled, efficient, and managed way using both project management and change management methodologies to engage our people along the project lifecycle and ensure benefits are sustained.

The Project Manager will follow the Groups project management framework to mobilise and deliver projects in an efficient, standardised and consistent manner. Also providing ongoing project management for assigned projects including: -


• Providing advice, guidance and feedback in relation to project activity and assistance to the Project Lead/Sponsor as needed
• Ensuring risks are proactively identified, escalated and resolved as part of project governance.
• Deploying change management techniques such as change impact assessment, stakeholder management and communications planning.
• Embedding and facilitating a One Gentoo approach through project governance and cross-business working
• Contributing to and involved in the Group’s portfolio management processes to ensure project oversight by the Senior Leadership and Executive Team
• Providing training and coaching as needed in relation the Group’s project and change management approach and tools.
• Ensuring all project and change management activity is aligned to the Group’s policies and procedures as needed.

The role is subject to a DBS check paid for by Gentoo.

What we are looking for:

Candidates are required to have:
• A recognised project management or change management qualification or training (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in managing a range of complex projects – Business and IT with multiple workstreams is essential.
• Demonstrable knowledge of change management methodologies and their practical application is essential.
• The ability to identify and escalate risk-driving discussions with risk owners and within the business as needed.
• Demonstrable experience in identifying and managing interdependencies between projects.
• The ability to facilitate and influence key stakeholders internal and external to the business.
