Assistant Project Manager - Flood, Coast and Maritime

Location: Chester, Swansea, Manchester, Birmingham or Bradford on Avon

We have a strong pipeline of projects undertaking project appraisals, design, construction supervision, and client secondment roles for key clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and local authorities.  Our professionals work on schemes that have a real positive impact on local communities and the environment.  We reduce the risk of flooding to protect people, homes and businesses, and manage the risk of coastal erosion.

This is a great opportunity for an aspiring Project Manager to work in the Flood Risk and Coastal Erosion Management (FCERM) and Environment sectors. You will develop your skills and experience supporting our experienced Project Managers and work towards a professional qualification and membership eg. Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) with the Association of Project Management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop your understanding of our client’s requirements
  • Assist in planning, monitoring and controlling projects in terms of scope, time, cost, resource, risk, and procurement management
  • Assist in administering contracts, predominantly under the NEC Professional Services Contract
  • Assist in financial reporting to client and our business
  • Work to defined timelines

Requirements

  • Motivated to manage FCERM and Environment projects
  • Be driven to develop and improve your technical skills and advance your career
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
  • Motivated to achieve a professional qualification
  • Ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple priorities
  • Collaborative individual with excellent communication skills
  • Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths), Geography, or Environment discipline
