The Vacancy
We are looking for an experienced Chartered Engineer to join our highly regarded Flood, Coast & Maritime team in Bristol or Bradford-on-Avon, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting and diverse flood and coastal projects. This role offers you the chance to lead multidisciplinary teams and make a real difference on projects for key clients such as Natural Resources Wales, the Environment Agency, and local authorities. You will be responsible for growing a Technical Team Capability. Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical delivery of a range of flood risk management, river restoration, coastal adaptation, and water resource projects.
Manage multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality project deliverables, ensuring they meet client specifications and fall within budget and schedule constraints.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and graduates, guiding them towards professional qualifications.
Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Project Managers to ensure smooth execution and commercial success of projects.
Support the development of innovative solutions for flood alleviation, river restoration, drainage, and sustainable infrastructure.
Work on a variety of projects with contract values ranging from £50k to £500k.
Essential Requirements
A background in Civil Engineering.
Professional engineering qualification with the ICE, CIWEM, or similar body.
Experience in the flood and coast sector, including the design and appraisal of schemes.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, producing high-quality deliverables on time and within budget.
Experience in client and stakeholder engagement and presenting technical solutions effectively, including management of day to day relationship with regards to technical delivery
Pastoral care and staff management experience
Desirable Requirements
Familiarity with NEC Professional Service Contracts (PSC) and the ability to manage project changes.
Experience in developing business cases and preferred options using FCERM Appraisal Guidance.
Experience in developing and leading civil engineering outline and detailed design
A focus on sustainable solutions, supporting natural resource management and the journey towards net zero.
Experience with site construction to enhance design buildability.
Strong attention to detail in delivering project outcomes.

How long will we retain your personal information?
If your application is not successful, your personal data will be retained:
I. If you apply directly to RSK through an advertisement or in response to an open vacancy listing, for a period not exceeding 2 years from your application date: or
II. If your application is referred from an Agency engaged to work on a vacancy for RSK, for a period of 6 months from your application date.
Unless you request that your data be retained following the appropriate peri od, you will be sent an automated email asking if you wish your details to be retained. If you do not respond to the email to confirm you wish to remain active, your candidate account will automatically be deactivated. You can also deactivate your account at any time. At the point of your account being deactivated, your data will be fully anonymised. This is so RSK can retain data for statistical purposes. All personal information will be removed.
We retain your personal information for that period for legal reasons and in order to show that we have conducted the recruitment exercise in a fair and transparent way.
If you are successfulin your application, your recruitment information will be transferred to your personnel file and you will receive our Privacy Notice for Employees, Workers and Contractors which explains how long your personal information will be kept for and the processing activities which will be undertaken in relation to your employment.
Your rights in connection with personal information
Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:
Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it and that it is correct.

For data subject access requests, we ask that you complete our Data Subject Access Request Form which is available on request. This is help us deal with your request more easily.
You will not normally need to pay a fee to exercise any of these rights. However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
