We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Industrial & Commercial (I&C) Business Development Manager to join our expanding Business Development team at eSmart Networks. This is an exciting opportunity within the utilities market, focused on driving growth in the I&C connections sector across Great Britain.

The role is key to enhancing our market presence and accelerating our sales growth, particularly in electricity grid connections that feed our new IDNO, Advanced Electricity Networks Limited (AEN). As part of our ambitious plans, you will help shape the future of our construction business and contribute significantly to the adoption of electrical assets within our network.

What will you be doing?

As the I&C Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth of eSmart Networks in the following key market segments:

  • Delivery Distribution Centres (DDCs)
  • Data Centres
  • Business Parks
  • Commercial Buildings
  • Industrial Connections
  • Manufacturing Plants

You will develop and implement sales strategies to meet the business’s growth expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Sales Target Achievement: Delivering on agreed sales targets while ensuring desired margins are met.
  • Lead Generation: Identifying new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking.
  • Account Management: Overseeing key accounts to maximise return on investment and nurture long-term relationships.
  • Bid and Tender Management: Leading the bid and tendering process with support from internal teams, including design, bid writing, and estimating.
  • Marketing Execution: Planning and executing marketing strategies, including attending trade shows and managing advertising efforts.
  • CRM and Sales Reporting: Maintaining up-to-date CRM systems and sales reports to track performance and progress.
  • Industry Representation: Representing eSmart Networks at external events and industry forums.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with a proven track record of driving sales growth within the ICP or IDNO sectors. The ideal candidate will:

  • Industry Expertise: Have significant experience and a well-established network within the ICP or IDNO sectors, with an in-depth understanding of market dynamics and decision-makers.
  • Sales Success: Demonstrate a history of achieving sales targets and delivering strong business results in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively across functional teams to achieve business objectives and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Motivation & Integrity: Exhibit a proactive approach to problem-solving, demonstrate integrity in all dealings, and maintain a high standard of professionalism.
  • Sales and Closing Expertise: Be adept at closing deals and managing the sales process through to completion.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and meeting targets efficiently.
