EV Battery Solutions (EVBS) is the leading full-service provider of "4R" services (repair, remanufacturing, refurbishing and repurposing) for advanced battery packs used in hybrid and electric vehicles. EVBS’s 4R services allow vehicle OEMs to optimize the life cycle management of their battery pack inventory and maximize its value.

Role:

Reporting into the International mobility leadership team, the role will specifically address the quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE)  needs of EVBS.  The role will also work closely with the wider Cox Automotive Europe and US teams to share resources and information.

The QHSE manager is responsible for the below activities across all current & future operating locations within Europe:

  • Continual development of a highly effective, best in class QHSE culture, with values, behaviours, systems and processes focussed on full legal compliance with safety at the core.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, including ensuring all permitting and testing is in place, liaising with external bodies
  • Reviewing and maintaining risk management policies and procedures, developing and implementing plans to minimise and control risk and preparing and presenting risk assessment reports and proposals.

Objectives for Role:

The QHSE Manager will:

  • Managing compliance with laws, permits and licences including monitoring and reporting and remaining up to date as regulations evolve
  • Drive a culture of continual improvement in all areas, focussed on a behavioural based safety culture
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership around compliance, changes and KPI measures.  Make recommendations & provide advice on changes to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Communicate information relating to QHSE throughout the organisation and promote HSE awareness through various communication channels
  • Lead successful external audits including following up on the preventive and / or corrective actions identified during the inspections and monitor the timely closing of the actions
  • Co-ordinate with stakeholders to maintain risk registers for all operations, including risk mitigation plans
  • Prepare QHSE documentation for clients/projects as per the requirements and in consultation with the sales and operations team
  • Ensure effective Accident and Incident investigations are completed by line managers in order to identify the immediate and underlying causes and the appropriate corrective actions

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Graduate calibre i.e. NEBOSH level 5 or 6 qualified, Chartered IOSH member

  • Minimum 7 years of proven industry experience within QHSE Management roles – relevant experience inn a highly regulated and compliance focussed environment. 

  • Experience with EV Batteries is advantageous and preferable.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, experienced in persuading and influencing stakeholders at business unit leadership and operational, group level.

  • Up to date knowledge of current UK & EU legislation including BS OSHAS 18001:(2007), ISO 14001 (2015) and ISO 45001 (2018)
