Job Title:                      Infrastructure Engineer – IT Apprenticeship   

Salary:                            Starting salary £10,185 for first 12 months,                       rising to National Minimum Wage for age

Contract:                       NSG Apprentice, Full Time, Fixed Term - 18 months

Hours:                             37 per week

Annual Leave:          30 per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension:                        NEST Pension Scheme

 

About the role  

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in implementing the college's Digital Strategy, whilst attending an NSG apprentice program. Whilst being supported and mentored by our staff, the successful candidate will be able to have a "hands-on" role on new and emerging technologies, tools and techniques, preparing them for a career in IT. This role would facilitate the Information Communication Technician Level 3 apprentice program. We see the apprentice program as providing the next generation of Digital Services staff, continuing the success story of some of our newly appointed Team Leaders.

  • Middlesbrough College is the largest General Further Education College in the Tees Valley and has been situated in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, since 2008. It has developed from the initial main site to the vibrant campus that is now in place with our Campus Heart, dedicated Sixth Form, STEM Centre, Higher Education Centre, and further development for our apprentices in progress.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Grade C or above in Maths or English (or equivalent) – Essential
  • Relevant IT qualification at Level 2 – Essential
  • Evidence of a desire to work in a very busy office environment.
  • Commitment to quality of work with attention to detail.
