About the role
The role of Student Support Mentor in Construction involves providing study support and targeted intervention for learners with a variety of needs within the directorate.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will identify, plan for and support learners who are facing difficulties with their studies and/or wellbeing. This may include learners with formal diagnosis such as Dyslexia or ADHD and it may also include learners experiencing short-term interruptions to the normal flow of their studies, potentially due to illness or difficulties with wellbeing.
Intervention may take the form of student drop-in sessions, 1:1 coaching and intervention as well as small group study support sessions. Your primary focus will be ensuring that students receive appropriate support to maintain their progress in learning, overcoming barriers when they arise and helping to secure achievement at the end of the academic year.
