The Vacancy
Part time 0.2FTE (1 day/week)
With an 1100 strong membership that includes 75% of secondary headteachers and representation in over 90% of schools in Scotland, SLS ensures that the voice of school leaders is heard throughout, within and at every level of Scottish education. We speak with an influential and respected voice which represents the interests the ever-increasing number of members across the country and we’re looking for a new team member.
The Professional Learning Events Coordinator role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the SLS team, coordinating and administrating the in-person and virtual delivery of activities. The post will cover Scotland, supporting the recently appointed General Secretary.
You will have an ability to create and set up content for in-person and digital event delivery platforms, be able to plan, implement and manage the user experience journey for speakers and delegates as well as have extensive experience to utilise website CRM event management systems.
The post-holder will be home based although the role involves occasional travel and overnight stays throughout Scotland. IT and mobile phone equipment will be provided.
The post requires the ability to deal with individuals at a senior level. The post will suit applicants with recent experience as leaders of educational institutions or administrators with good experience of school or college management and a strong interest in professional issues.
This is a part time position and is paid on a five-point incremental range from £38,419 to £43,024 starting at £38,419 (which is £7,684 per annum at 0.2 pro rata).
SLS is committed to equalities and values diversity. Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses are also covered, including a working from home allowance.
