POSITION SUMMARY

Purpose of this role is to lead and oversee the development, implementation, training, teaching, coaching, support, and management of the implementation of a world class manufacturing reliability system using lean techniques across GFG.

The role will require approx. 25-50% travel to the various sites. This position is one of the cornerstone roles of the GFG Operational Excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the implementation of a world class Operational Excellence within GFG: the development, teaching and coaching of a specialized training and skill enhancement CI program, for both physical trainings and online offerings.
  • Work with key Operational Excellence, GREENSTEEL Academy and management stakeholders to design, implement, sustain, and evaluate a world class CI training and development program.
  • Partner with Corporate Training and Development Organization to ensure alignment in tools and techniques.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify current and future performance and capability gaps.
  • Teach and train the trainer curriculum to businesses, sites.
  • Lead trainer/teacher for Lean/Sigma Belt programs
  • Manage tracking and coaching programs for certifications Belt (yellow, green, black, master) and reliability programs together with HR function.
  • Work closely with the plant businesses and sites to determine the needs of the system, develop action and implementation plans.
  • Track and monitor the CI system skill sets and develop programs and initiatives to further enhance and close gaps.
  • Develop relationships with local and national organizations that can support CI training and tool development.
  • Support cultural and lean transformation work across all GFG.
  • Support the develop the standardized OpEx / CI toolbox and guidelines.
  • Openly and effectively communicate about continuous improvement, build credibility through relationships, and provide leadership to the program.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, preferably in engineering, manufacturing/operations,
  • 15+ years of experience Developing, implementing, facilitating, teaching and coaching continuous improvement training and events with proven results and implementations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification – both course work and hands on
  • Proven ability to work independently and successfully facilitate cross functional teams.
  • Well Organized, Detailed, High energy, data driven, and results oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication, presentation and organization skills, must be comfortable teaching and presenting to large groups at all levels of the organization from shop floor to CEO.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Oracle, and various analysis tools (Minitab, etc.)
  • Experience in developing online content with LMS 365
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% to 50% of the time.

Required Skills

  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt or equivalent.
  • Aluminum/Steel Casting or Rolling Experience
  • CMRP certification, SPC training/certification
  • Process/Technical/Operations/Maintenance experience with a proven track record of lean concepts
  • Leader in a previous Lean transformation site
